Making your home pet-friendly
Your place isn’t just a home for humans. It’s often a home for pets as well. Consider these tips to boost the comfort of your furry little friends and guests.
- Storage space: Store all your pet’s possessions, such as toys, food and leashes, in one place for easy access and minimal clutter.
- Dog doors: Install a dog door or hire a contractor to give your dog the freedom to roam around and go to the bathroom.
- Flooring: To clean up after your pet, consider a vacuum with attachments to pick up fur and a carpet cleaner to deep clean messes.
- Feeding station: Add a feeding station to keep kibble and pet water clean and off the floor or ground.
- Disguising the litter box: Hide your cat’s litter box by transforming a small side table or cabinet into a space for their litter box. Your cat, and your guests, will thank you.
- Safety gates: A safety gate keeps your pets safe and away from danger. It will also give you peace of mind by teaching your pet where they may or may not go.
- Match your pet’s fur: Every pet owner knows fur gets everywhere. Watch the color of furnishings since high-contrast colors will accentuate fur before you have time to vacuum it away.
