On June 15, 2020, Governor Newsom granted another 60-day extension for California Department of Real Estate (DRE) licensees and exam applicants.

The order extends the timelines and deadlines related to:

  • exam application expiration dates;
  • license expiration dates;
  • payment of license application fees;
  • payment of renewal fees; and
  • continuing education (CE) requirements.

In other words, if your license or exam application expiration date falls between June 15 and August 14, 2020, you now have an additional 60 days to complete and submit your necessary requirements. If your expiration occurred during the previous timeline — between April 16 and June 14, 2020 — you also receive an additional 60 days, for a total of 120 days to fulfill the requirements applicable to you and your license.

If the order applies to you, there is no need to contact the DRE for an extension, it is automatic.

This extension does not impact licenses or applications expiring after the new August 14th deadline at this time.
