Are you thinking about listing your home, but not sure what safety precautions to take to keep you and your family healthy?
Here is a checklist to use to ensure you are taking all the steps to keep your home clean while opening your home to showings:
- Clean high-touch surfaces, including light switches, interior and exterior doorknobs, lockboxes, cabinets and countertops with disinfecting wipes or spray.
- Leave interior doors open to minimize touching of doorknobs.
- Open windows before and after showings to introduce fresh air into the home.
- Require all agents and potential homebuyers to use hand sanitizer before and after touring the home.
- Require buyers’ agents to verbally discuss all safety measures and confirm they and their clients are symptom-free before agreeing to a showing.
There are also steps your agent can take to minimize your risk. This can include conducting virtual tours whenever possible and providing electronic marketing materials to buyers at home.
