Our Commitment to Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

The Information We Collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the firsttuesday website, the firsttuesday Journal Online and information provided as part of your enrollment with firsttuesday. On some pages, you can register for courses, make exam requests and order additional materials. The types of personal information collected at these pages are:

  • Department of Real Estate (DRE) license number
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Fax number
  • Credit/Debit Card Information

On some pages, you can submit information about other people (e.g. your test administrator). In this circumstance, the types of personal information collected are:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone number

We also collect audience data (such as age, gender, and interests) using Google Analytics.

The Way We Use Information

For our use of your name, DRE license number and mailing address, please see Public Information below.

The payment information you provide us when placing an order is used only to complete that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order (e.g. the processing of payment information through merchant services providers). We do not keep your payment information on file. All orders are processed securely through our third-party encryption service.

Your phone number is kept in our records solely for the purpose of contacting you should we have a question about your order.  We do not sell or otherwise share your phone number with outside parties, except as necessary to complete your order (i.e., for expedited shipping purposes).

Your fax number is kept in our records solely for the purpose of transmitting your certificates of completion at your request, and/or transmitting other documents relating to your enrollment at your request. We do not sell or otherwise share your fax number with outside parties.

We use return email addresses to provide email enrollment confirmations, provide certificates of completion, send course reminder information and provide email news alerts. You may elect to unsubscribe from our email news alerts at any time. Email addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not sold or otherwise shared with outside parties.

We use the information you provide about someone else only to ship exams upon your request. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete the shipment.

We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and to share with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or Y number of licensees filled out our registration form, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals periodically.

We use audience data to better tailor our marketing to our consumers.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above.

Public Information

License numbers, names, mailing addresses, employing brokers, administrative actions and license statuses are all available as a matter of public record.

Cookies and Tracking

The firsttuesday website uses cookies to determine whether visitors have been to our site before, to keep students logged in to certain areas of our website, to track where visitors go on our website and to track our marketing effectiveness. Our cookies do not create a security issue for your information.

Our Commitment to Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Subpoenas and Other Demands for Information

State and federal law requires firsttuesday to comply with legal demands for information such as subpoenas, warrants and civil discovery demands. Student information may be divulged for these purposes.
