On May 19, 2010 the Department of Real Estate (DRE) released revisions to the 2009 Continuing Education proposal, changing the effective date from July 1, 2010 to January 1, 2011.
The revisions to the original proposal remove the word count requirement on continuing education course materials and reduce the number of exam questions required per course hours as outlined in the proposal.
Public comment on these changes is open until June 3, 2010, and can be addressed to:

first tuesday was surprised to see the extension of the proposed effective date, as the DRE did assure us of its timely implementation in July of 2010.
As a long-time California real estate education provider, we were ready to provide our students with a smooth transition to the new regulations, and, as always, we will be ready once the proposals have truly been finaled.
For a detailed run-down of the newly-revised proposed regulations, see our June 2010 Legislative Watch.
Re: “2009 Continuing Education proposal, revised May 19, 2010” from the Department of Real Estate
I think you’d provide the older Real Eatate Broker a service if you provided information about Dept. Of RE [program of providing license renewal without Continuing Education if you have been licensed for 30 years and over 70 years of age.
