Closing gifts solidify the agent-client relationship. You’ve spent months working beside your client to buy or sell their home. Your closing gift brings together all you know about your client in a celebration of the biggest purchase (or sale!) of their lives. It’s also handy for keeping you in mind for referrals.

We’ve compiled a list of inexpensive, thoughtful and fun gifts for clients:

Gift Cards
Is your client a first-time home-buyer?  Try a gift card to a home improvement or home furnishing store.

Green is Good
The client with a green thumb and a new rambling yard will appreciate a package of gardening supplies and starter seed packets.

Knick-Knacks
Candles, wind chimes and welcome mats are gifts that show off how well you know your client, and add a touch of class to any new home.

New Experiences
Tickets to local sporting events, museums or other famous attractions are great for home-buyers who move to a new city or state.

Take it Personal
Does your client like traveling?  Reading?  Are they an oenophile? Personalized gifts include luggage tags, engraved wine bottle stoppers, engraved coffee mugs, and bookmarks.

For the Pet
An engraved collar ID for Fido or organic treats in a fancy mason jar for Mittens are great presents for the pet parent.

Foodie Fun
Wrap baked goods such as cookies or an apple pie in a bow and deliver to clients. If baked goods aren’t their thing, try a gift basket loaded with fruit, veggies and nuts.

Wine
Hand-deliver a bottle of wine in a nice case or gift bag. Our clients choose red over white wine, but do recon for client preferences before purchasing.

Need to buy wine as closing gifts for the New Year? Be on the lookout for first tuesday’s wine sales, coming in Q1 2014.
