Google introduces Project Sunroof, a new program making it easier for homeowners to determine the costs and savings of installing solar panels. Project Sunroof uses data from Google Maps to determine:

  • how much sunlight hits a home’s roof;
  • how many solar panels will fit on the roof;
  • how much the homeowner will save per panel; and
  • which local installers offer the best prices.

Project Sunroof is currently live in Boston, San Francisco and Fresno.
