Is it unethical for a broker to knowingly recruit agents currently employed by another brokerage?

“Join our brokerage! (If you’re currently employed by another broker, please disregard this message.)”  Recruiting agents already under the employ of another broker is a controversial topic — some call it poaching, while others simply call it competition.

Of course, agreements between competitors to abstain from luring away one another’s talent amount to possible antitrust violations in other industries.
